Finish the approved driver education course — including behind-the-wheel instruction — and obtain your certificate of completion.
Hold your learner's permit for at least 6 months and log 50 hours of supervised driving — including 10 hours at night — with a licensed adult who is at least 25 years old (or a spouse 21 or older).

Your probationary license at 16 restricts nighttime driving (10 p.m.–5 a.m. for the first 6 months) and limits passengers. Restrictions end and you receive a full Indiana driver license at 18 after 6 months licensed.
