The Department of Revenue (DOR) is the government agency responsible for driver licensing, learner's permits, vehicle registration, driving records, and other motor vehicle services. The DOR name is used in Missouri. While DOR is one of several names a state driver licensing agency may use, not every state uses that title. Depending on where you live, your licensing agency may instead use another state-specific name. Regardless of the acronym, these agencies serve similar roles in establishing and administering the requirements drivers must meet to legally operate a motor vehicle.

DOT Driving School helps drivers navigate these different state licensing systems by connecting them with both recommended and state-approved driving courses. When a course is specifically approved by a state's licensing agency, such as the DOR, we identify it as an “Official State-Approved Course” with our approved checkmark logo. While not every course we offer is state-approved or required, our recommended courses are selected for their educational content and ability to help drivers build their knowledge and prepare for their state's licensing test. We also provide supplemental study resources, free practice tests, and an educational driving game designed to make learning more engaging while helping drivers become safer, more knowledgeable, and better prepared.
