Who Is This Course For?

Missouri adults preparing for the DOR knowledge and driving tests who want a supplemental, recommended online driver education course. This course is not state-approved and is not required by the Missouri DOR.

Course Overview

Missouri does not require adult driver education. Adults 18 and older must pass the DOR knowledge test (25 questions, 80% to pass — 20 correct), the road sign test, a vision test, and the driving test to receive a full, unrestricted Missouri driver's license. This recommended online course is a supplemental study tool that helps you build the skills and knowledge to pass the tests. It is not a state-approved program and is not required.

The course features clear language, fresh graphics, fun videos, and interactive 3-D animations that keep you engaged and help you retain what you learn. It is 100% online and self-paced on any device. Completing it does not waive any DOR requirement — you must still pass the knowledge, road sign, vision, and driving tests.

You may qualify for an auto insurance discount with eligible auto insurance companies. The discount is not guaranteed — ask your insurance agent for details. This is a recommended supplemental course, not a state-approved Missouri driver education program.

Missouri teens hold an instruction permit for 6 months with 40 supervised hours (10 at night) before an intermediate license at 16 that restricts driving 1 a.m.–5 a.m. and limits the driver to one passenger under 19 for the first 6 months (three thereafter). Adults 18 and older skip the intermediate stage, its curfew, and its passenger limits, and apply directly for a full Missouri license by passing the DOR knowledge test, the road sign test, a vision test, and the driving test.
