Nevada Adult Driver Education (Recommended Online Course)

Nevada does not require adult driver education. Adults 18 and older must pass the DMV knowledge test (50 questions, 80% to pass — 40 correct), a vision test, and the driving test to receive a full, unrestricted Nevada driver's license. This recommended online course is a supplemental study tool that helps you build the skills and knowledge to pass the tests. It is not a state-approved program and is not required.

The course features clear language, fresh graphics, fun videos, and interactive 3-D animations that keep you engaged and help you retain what you learn. It is 100% online and self-paced on any device. Completing it does not waive any DMV requirement — you must still pass the knowledge, vision, and driving tests.

You may qualify for an auto insurance discount with eligible auto insurance companies. The discount is not guaranteed — ask your insurance agent for details. This is a recommended supplemental course, not a state-approved Nevada driver education program.

Nevada requires most teens under 18 to complete a 50-hour driver education course — or log 100 supervised hours instead — and then log 50 supervised hours (10 at night) before a provisional license at 16 with a 10 p.m.–5 a.m. curfew. Adults 18 and older skip the 50-hour course (or 100-hour alternative), the 50-hour supervised log, and the provisional stage, and apply directly for a full Nevada license by passing the DMV knowledge, vision, and driving tests.
